Microsoft Surface Pro 9 will be available in both Intel and ARM versions, sources say
IT House August 29th news, Microsoft's annual Ignite conference will be held offline from October 12th to 14th, and it is reported that Microsoft also plans to launch new products this fall to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Surface. Recently, Zac Bowden from Windows Central, citing his sources inside Microsoft, revealed that Microsoft plans to combine the Surface Pro with Intel processors and Surface Pro X with ARM processors into one device family. Zac Bowden said: Microsoft plans to merge the Surface Pro X into the Surface Pro mainline this fall, which means the Surface Pro 9 will be available in both Intel and ARM versions for the first time. If the news is true, it means that Windows on ARM will usher in a major milestone, and the Surface Pro X experience has been incorporated into the main Surface Pro series. IT House learned that recently, Microsoft announced that ARM64EC now fully supports Windows 11 ARM, and developers can build fully supported Arm64EC applications for Windows 11 ARM. With this tool, developers do not have to re-develop and build their applications on the ARM platform, but first build some ARM native functions, and use ARM64EC for other functions to be compatible with x64, and then slowly migrate all functions to native ARM. In addition, Microsoft’s new Surface Pro X appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, confirming that it is equipped with a Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 processor, equipped with 16GB of memory, and scored 1,005 points in single-core and 5,574 points in multi-core.
