Top sales! The iPhone 14 Pro series will dominate Apple's shipments for the rest of 2022

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted that by 2022, the iPhone 14 Pro model will attract the attention of Apple suppliers more than previously thought. And less than a week after most iPhone 14 models hit the market, analysts are making fresh claims about the mix of variants Apple will sell. Recently, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has updated his iPhone product launch expectations this year. In the article, Ming-Chi Kuo pointed out that due to the strong market demand for Pro models, Apple has now asked Hon Hai to switch the original iPhone 14 production line to the Pro model production line. He also predicted that the iPhone 14 Pro models will account for 60% to 65% of total iPhone 14 shipments in the second half of 2022 after the production line switch. The previous estimate was estimated to be between 55% and 60%, which is a relative increase. Among these models, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is expected to be the "sales champion" in this period, accounting for 30% to 35% of the total iPhone 14 shipments during this period, making it the most popular model. Ming-Chi Kuo's conclusions appear to be in line with other analysts' expectations. A few days ago, the delivery time of Pro models continued to be stretched, and JPMorgan Chase said that the demand for Pro models was generally high. Kuo also believes that the iPhone's product mix is "improving" and that Apple will likely give a positive outlook for the fourth quarter on its earnings call in late October. However, this is all based on the assumption that iPhone shipments "will not drop significantly after late November." As for the beneficiaries in the Pro model supply chain, Ming-Chi Kuo believes that camera component suppliers will benefit greatly. The list includes the sole supplier of the 48-megapixel sensor, Sony; lens suppliers Largan, LG Innotek, ALPS and Minebea. In addition to this, Samsung Display is also considered a beneficiary as it is the only supplier of display panels for the Pro models. FII/Foxconn Technology is the main supplier of the stainless steel frame, while Hon Hai is the "only EMS for the Pro model". Editor’s comment: Apple has obtained higher profits by stimulating consumers’ willingness to buy high-end Pro series models. It has to be said that such a product strategy is still extremely successful. However, this approach may lead to lower-than-expected sales of the iPhone 14 standard version, and perhaps Apple will adjust this in the future.
