LastPass Hacked, CEO Guarantees No User Data Leaked

IT House September 18 news, LastPass last month admitted that the system was hacked and obtained some sensitive information in about four days. The CEO of LastPass responded that the company worked closely with security experts from Mandiant and found that no user data was compromised. The CEO assured that while LastPass was hacked, no user data was leaked. IT Home understands that the attackers did get some LastPass password manager source code and technical information. But only in the development environment of the service and not related to user data. Not to mention that LastPass itself doesn't have access to a user's master password, and the master password wasn't stored on the LastPass servers in the first place. Investigations revealed that the attackers used a developer's terminal and impersonated the developer after successfully using multi-factor authentication.
